The next day we read about how Rahab helped the 2 Israelite spies escape from Jericho. Then, we built the wall of Jericho using crackers and peanut butter. Samuel loved this! He did a good job putting it together with only a little help from me.
After we built Jericho out of peanut butter and crackers, Samuel wanted to build it out of Legos. So, we made a Lego city of Jericho complete with a spy climbing out the window.
Since this is a review week for our letters, I let Samuel pick what letter he wanted to tape on the floor. He picked G. He spent a long time walking around it and showing me how to make a G.
The next day we read about the Israelites crossing the river into the Promised Land and how God dried up the river in front of them so they could cross on dry land. We also were supposed to choose one of our letters to review and then do a craft by putting glue on the letter and covering it with glitter. Samuel wanted to do lots of them so we ended up doing E, F, G, and H.
The next day we read about how God told the Israelites to march around Jericho 7 times to make the walls fall down. We also did a letter review page. Samuel did a great job matching up the upper and lower case letters.
The last day we read about Joshua and the Israelites fighting in a battle and how God kept the sun from going down. We talked about time and how long 1 minute is. Samuel and I sat quietly while I timed 1 minute and then I made him do different things for 1 minute like run, jump, hop, clap, etc to see how long it actually is. We talked aobut how there are only so many minutes in a day and we can't add any more, only God can.
