Cades Cove

Adam was off work and the weather was nice so we decided to drive up to Cades Cove. There weren't a whole lot of animals out, but we did manage to see a few. Samuel liked it and says he wants to go back so I guess it was a success.

This is one of the churches there -- I think it's the Baptist one

This was either a coyote or a wolf in the field. We'd never seen one of those at Cades Cove before. Usually we just see deer. We had the zoom lens on but it still didn't come out very clear.

The family

One of the cabins there. Samuel loved going through all the old buildings. We couldn't just walk by them, he had to go in each one.

Outside the cabin there were a couple of deer. They didn't seem afraid of us at all and came very close. I was suprised Samuel didn't scare them off, but he was actually really good. He even would tell us to Shhh! when he thought we were being too loud.

Samuel and I looking through the gap between the logs of the barn wall.

Adam and Samuel coming back from the cabin.

The old mill by the visitors center

Another one of the lovely wildlife we saw

The real excitement came as we were leaving. The pictures didn't come out that great but if you look just past the car and to the right you'll see a black bear walking down the side of the road.

Here he is again on the left just off the side of the road.
